Keeping the American Dream Alive

$199.00

Home ownership is a cornerstone of the American dream. It is the main way we pass on wealth to future generations and helps ensure a safer and close-knit neighborhood. With new development projects in New York City home ownership is often an afterthought, new development focuses exclusively on apartments for rent, often with rents too high for the locals.

Any new development in our district should prioritize home ownership, this can be achieved through cooperative buildings. Living in a Co-op area myself, I know this is the only way I can afford home ownership in the area.

I will also advocate for the creation of a New York State Bank that lends exclusively to middle income New Yorkers looking to purchase first time homes in New York, with reduced interest rates around 3% for qualified buyers. This will save thousands of dollars for hard working New Yorkers.

I will also push for legislation that prohibits investment firms from purchasing single family homes. These homes are the bedrock of our community, not a piggy bank that Black Rock and other multibillion dollar firms will use to milk average people dry.
